When can I arrive?

Your cottage(s) will be available from 4:00 pm on the day of arrival. If arriving after 10pm please let us know you will be arriving late.

How do I find the keys?

Instructions for checking into your cottage(s) will be sent when we have received your final payment.

Is there enough parking?

There is ample parking space.

Are dogs permitted?

Dogs can have a holiday with you too. They are permitted in the following cottages: Gaffers, Granary, Waterside, Stables & The Lodge only. This is an extra charge of £15 per pet.

Can I have day guests?

Day guests are permitted to visit you at your cottage. Day guests can only bring their dogs to the cottage if you are staying in a dog friendly cottage.

What is provided in the kitchen?

Our fixed white goods include oven, hob, microwave, freezer, fridge, dishwasher and access to a washing machine and tumble dryer. Towels, oven cloth, dish washer tablets, washing up liquid and dish cloths are provided. Otherwise do check out our facilities page.

Do you provide linen?

Bed linen and towels are ready for each guest.

Are there hairdryers?

One hairdryer is provided per cottage and can be found in the airing cupboard or a bedroom drawer.

Are there BBQ’s?

We have 3 large BBQ’s for our guests to use.

Where are the nearest shops?

Spixworth Village has a Post Office and newsagent, Co-op, Pharmacy and a hairdresser, within a mile of the cottages.

Are there any takeaway facilities nearby?

In the village there is a Chinese takeaway and tasty bites which serves fish & chips, pizza’s, kebabs etc.

Where is the nearest cash point?

At the Co-op in Spixworth village.

Where is the nearest pub?

The Longe Arms is on the Buxton road opposite the entrance to Spixworth Hall Cottages.

Are there any good places to eat within walking distance?

The Longe Arms or the Black Swan which is 1.8 miles away on quiet footpaths.

Can I stay at Spixworth Hall Cottages without a car?

Yes, you can enjoy over 700 acres of land, spotting wildlife, walking through our woods, enjoy the grounds & pond, have BBQ’s, games barn, outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts etc.

What is public transport like?

Buses run every 30 minutes to & from the village. Taxi's cost around £12 each way to & from the City.

Do supermarkets deliver?

Supermarket deliveries are great for your basic and heavy items e.g. drinks. You may want to sample the local delicacies from nearby farm shops, so don’t order too much!

When arranging a delivery, please ensure it is delivered at least an hour after you have arrived, provide the cottage name and use the postcode NR10 3PU. For the Lodge cottage use postcode NR10 3PL.

Please note we are not available to take your delivery for you.

When is the pool open & what is the water temperature? 

The pool is open from the end of May until September.  During these months the temperature of the pool is between 26 to 28 degrees.

Can we hire bikes?

There are many places you can hire bicycles from have a look on google, but here are a couple of options https://www.norfolkcyclehire.com – provide the bike and all the safety equipment and will deliver the bikes to you. TheCanoeMan - from £20 per day, Broadland Cycle hire - from £18 per day – they will also deliver within a 10 mile radius.

Are there local cycle paths?

Yes, we provide a laminated map with path routes across our land.

Do I need UK travel insurance?

We would advise that travel insurance is bought even when holidaying in the UK.  In the event that you need to cancel your booking, having travel insurance will cover any cancellation costs that may be incurred, which means you will not be out of pocket.
